Our Story

Rustique was born out of a love of pie and classic, homemade desserts. Growing up, Ryan spent summers and weekends in the Laurentians as a kid, always buying a fresh pie from the roadside stand. Jacqueline just really loves pie. And cookies. And chocolate. And... well, you get the idea. We share this pie passion with our shop regulars, catering clients and everyone we meet along the way.

For me, no meal is complete without dessert. In fact, when left to dine alone, I almost always choose to eat dessert first and dinner second, or not at all. After working in marketing and sales for a variety of brands, companies and foundations, I knew two things for sure. One; that I was an entrepreneur at heart, and two; that dessert held a very important place in my heart. I love interacting with our clients. Whether I’m serving your morning coffee, helping you build the sweet table of your dreams or reposting your awesome Instagram photo, I am so proud to be a part of your day.

Growing up I spent every summer at our family’s lake house in the Laurentians. Most weekends we would have friends over for dinner. Dessert was always a fruit pie from the stand down the road. After five years of living and working abroad on real estate projects revitalizing town centres, resort destinations and university towns, I returned to Montreal wanting to create unique, authentic and fun business concepts. Today, my personal role at Rustique focuses on strategy, growth, wholesale, licensing and special projects.
